SALE!! Now accepting wool, alpaca and mohair for processing!

If you are local to Ramona, CA, we are collaborating with Lil Patch of Heaven farm at 2108 Orange Ave and you may drop off wool in their collection bin after you’ve booked our services. For out of town customers, you may mail your fiber to 1672 Main Street, Suite E223, Ramona, CA 92065.

We accept wool, alpaca and mohair for processing. If you have Pygora or Nigora fiber, we recommend a mill that provides dehairing (or fiber separating) services. If you have angora rabbit fiber, we do not recommend commercial washing or picking because of the fiber’s cleanliness and delicate nature. We raise English Angora rabbits and always process 100% by hand for best results.

We are generally busy working on the farm and take calls by appointment only.  Please drop us a note so that we can arrange a chat by phone.

Since we provide processing to a fiber cloud (scoured and picked fiber), our turn-around times are much faster than other mills that offer carding and spinning.  The minimum lead time is a week but will depend on the amount of fiber you want processed.

Many fiber producers want a faster turnaround time for getting their raw fiber processed. Picking to a cloud offers an alternative end product that results in clean fiber that is ready for use in crafts, storage or further processing either by hand or machine. A picked cloud can readily be hand spun, dyed, used in fiber arts for felting, stuffing for plush toys, quilts, dog beds, pillows and more. Fiber artists may enjoy a picked cloud of fiber because it is ready to be carded into artistic batts.

We accept cash, checks, Visa, Mastercard, Discover, American Express and our Gift Certificates. Payment is due in full at time of booking, however, some payment gateways offer payment plans that is an agreement between you and the payment processor. That can be an option for those needing a smaller payment up-front.

We offer 100% satisfaction guarantee on all our products. If you decide that a product is not right for you, you may return the un-used product in accordance with our return policy.  We hope that our mill services meet your expectations and beyond. In the event you are not satisfied with your returned fiber, please contact us to discuss your concerns. Because we have spent considerable amount of time processing your fiber, we generally cannot offer refunds but we will work with you to the best of our ability.  Please note that the fiber you send will be the fiber returned. If you send us fiber filled with vegetable matter (VM) and guard hairs, you will receive fiber returned with VM and guard hairs.  Our processing removes a significant amount of VM and other foreign matter but we cannot remove all contaminants found in the fiber you send to us.

If you need to cancel or reschedule your mill booking, we ask that you provide at least a week’s notice so that we may begin processing other orders. We will issue a refund in accordance with the payment processor.

You are welcome to drop off or mail a sample of your fiber that you are thinking of having processed after speaking with us. We will evaluate it for strength and VM load. Some fiber is too brittle or weak for commercial picking and will result in broken fiber. This may be ok for you depending on your intended use or it may not.  A heavy amount of VM may not benefit from processing by our equipment. You may need to reach out to a mill that offers fiber separation or you may want to consider the fiber for pellets or mulch instead.

We are happy to discuss end product options with you. Please send us a message!

We make handspun yarn on commission.  We do not currently offer machine carding, spinning or plying but hope to in the future. Please let us know you are interested!

We now offer dying services for both picked clouds and your existing mill spun yarn. Check out our dyed cloud (dyed cloud service) and (dyed yarn services)

We are happy to blend fiber during the picking stage. Please note that this does not necessarily make a homogenous blend at this stage and will depend on the micron measurement of each fiber, as well as the percentage of each. A courser fiber wool blended with a fine mohair or alpaca will result in a picked blend where you can easily identify the difference in fiber qualities. Carding this blend one or more times will help more evenly distribute the fibers beyond what we can do at the picking stage.
